The Tamil Nadu cricket Association had arranged its regular programme to promote
the game of cricket in Districts based on the recommendation by the District Secretaries
Forum. Thanks to the efforts taken by the District Tournament Committee under the
Chairmanship of Shri N.Gururajan, all the Inter Districts matches have been completed
on time.
The District League Championship 2010-2011 had been completed in many Districts
and was in progress in some Districts and they will be completed before the end
of July 2011. They could not complete the programme in time because of rains, non-availability
of grounds, clashing with BCCI/TNCA Tournaments etc...
It is also important to note that the Inter Schools Tournament has conducetd by
almost all the DCA’s to encourage and develop the game at the school level.
The Summer coaching camp (15 days duration) in all the Districts had taken place.
The TNCA Academy sent coaches to conduct the camp.
A combined Districts summer Camp for Under-14 and Under-16 categories was held at
Theni from 10th May to 30th May. A similar camp for Under-19 category was held at
Tirunelveli from 15th May to 30th May 2011.
The Districts Umpires’ seminar to discuss and interact regarding the updated Rules
& Regulations was heldat Thoothukudi on 30th July 2010.
The Scorer’s seminar for the District Scorer’s was held on 15th August at Salem.
The Silver Jubilee Celebrations of District Secretaries Forum was held on 12th June
2010 at Yercaud. Shri. N.Srinivasan, President, Tamil Nadu Cricket Association and
Hon. Secretary Board of Control for Cricket in India was the Chief Guest and delivered
the key note address. A Souvenir was released on the occasion. The work of establishing
TNCA Cricket Academy at Theni is in near completion.
A condolence meeting on the passing away of Shri G.R.Prasad, Hon Secretary, Coimbatore
District Cricket Association and Chairman, Districts Secretaries Forum took place
on 30-04-2011 at Coimbatore.
Two meetings of the Districts Development Committee to explore the possibilities
to develop and promote the game of cricket in the Districts from the grass root
level were held at Coimbatore and Theni on 27-07-2010 and 25-03-2011 respectively.
Thanks are due to our President Shri N. Srinivasan and members of the Eeecutive
Committee for their sustained encouragement for development of the District Cricket.

REPORT ON INTER-DISTRICT TOURNAMENTS:
Under-14:
29 Districts (except Pondicherry) affiliated to the TNCA participated in the TNCA
Inter Districts Under-14 Tournament. Nagapattinam DCA emerged as winner in the fifth
edition of the Tournament and Vellore DCA were the runner-up.
Under-16:
29 Districts (except Pondicherry) affiliated to the TNCA participated in the TNCA
Inter-districts Under-16 Tournament for P.R.Thevar Trophy. Thiruvallur DCA emerged
as winner in the Tournament and Madurai DCA were the runner-up.
Under-19:
29 Districts (except Pondicherry) affiliated to the TNCA participated in the TNCA
Inter-districts Under-19 Tournament. The winner was Kancheepuram DCA and the runner-up
position went to Thanjavur DCA.
Under-22:
29 Districts (except Pondicherry) affiliated to the TNCA participated in the TNCA
Inter-districts Under-22 Tournament. Thiruvallur DCA won the Tournament defeating
Vellore DCA in a close finish by 1 wicket.
S.S.Rajan Trophy:
29 Districts (except Pondicherry) affiliated to the TNCA participated in the Tournament.
Madurai DCA retained the Trophy beating Kancheepuram DCA by 3 runs.
